| EXCEL COMPASS GROUPS |
Formerly Small Groups, Excel Compass Groups are the lifeblood of our ministry. We are a small group based ministry. Because of the size of Excel, it is difficult for us to provide quality ministry for each student and to develop genuine Christian Community. That’s great news for you. You now get to make that quality ministry and Christian community a reality for students through our Compass Group program!!! Compass Groups are where relationships are built, where one-on-one ministry happens, and where most of our activities take place. They meet on Friday nights at Belmont

FNL: Finding New Life, F.N.L. – Finding New Life is a high school compass group (in the Excel Student Ministry at Belmont Assembly of God Church) that is discovering God in a new way and learning how to live our “New” lives through Him and according to His will. || Theme Verse: We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:4 180: We are all about connecting & helping each other complete that 180 degree turn of repentance, not only that but encouraging each other to begin/complete to walk in the right direction || Theme Verse: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2 NIV)” United: Orange you glad we’ve been reunited? Let’s remain united. Theme Verse: “Let us hold tightly without wavering Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. “(Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT) 3:30 is our junior high compass group, consisting of 12 – 14 year olds || Theme Verse: “He must become greater; I must become less.”(John 3:30 NIV)
Some of the great things that happen in compass groups are: Students who have given their lives to Christ are getting connected. Students who want to go deeper in their walk with God and gain more discipleship are getting this. Students are finding a place and a way to build friendships with other Christians their age. Structure The structure of our small groups has students divided into two age groups: Junior High Group (grades 6-8): 330 Senior High Groups (grades 9-12): 180, FNL, United Each small group will have: One Captain and at least one or two Co-Leaders At least one male leader and one female leader Do’s and Don’ts of Small Groups Do: We DO want to see students opening up to one another, sharing their feelings, experiences, and questions. Don’t: We DON’T want to see a leader being the only person talking and spending the entire evening teaching or preaching. Do: We DO want to see you building relationships with your students, encouraging them in their walk with God, and helping to lead them into an even deeper walk with Christ.
